Tanusree Shankar is one of India’s foremost dancers and choreographers, carrying forward the globally admired legacy of the Uday Shankar style of dance. Her work reflects a fusion of Indian classical, folk, and Western modern movements—rendered with a visual language that resonates across cultures and generations.
As the artistic director of the Tanusree Shankar Dance Company, she has performed in over 40 countries, representing India on some of the most prestigious global stages. Her productions are known for their narrative depth, lyrical beauty, and innovative choreography that connects the past to the present.
Awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award and the Woman of Excellence Award by FICCI, Tanusree continues to inspire through performances that are both rooted and revolutionary.
